Information about an alleged new increase in the cost of obtaining a residence permit continues to spread on Russian-language social networks. The official explanation from the Migration Department says the opposite.
What the department said
The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Türkiye announced on April 30, 2026 that there was no additional change in the amount of the state fee for a residence permit. The department reminded: fees are determined annually by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in accordance with the Law on Fees No. 492.
Why amounts may vary between applicants
Even without a new increase, the final amount may depend on citizenship, the period of the requested permit, the type of residence permit, the cost of the card and insurance. Therefore, someone else’s check or Telegram message cannot be automatically applied to your situation.
How to check the amount safely
Use only the official invoice and pages of the Migration Directorate, keep the date and basis of payment and do not transfer money to an intermediary without a receipt. This clarification specifically concerns the rumor of a new fee increase; it does not mean automatic approval of the application and does not replace the verification of an individual package of documents.
