The wildfire picture changed again on the evening of 7 September. Forestry crews and helicopters were responding to two separate fires in the rural Çorlu area of Karaisalı and the rural Mansurlu area of Feke, both in Adana province. Farther west, the General Directorate of Forestry said the Menteşe fire in Muğla and the Serik fire in Antalya were largely under control. These are different incidents with different statuses: Adana remains an active response, while cooling and monitoring continue in Muğla and Serik.
Two separate response zones in Adana
The Karaisalı fire was reported in the countryside around Çorlu, while the Feke fire was reported in the rural Mansurlu area. Anadolu Agency said regional forestry teams and firefighting helicopters were sent to both locations and that air-and-ground operations were continuing. No official evacuation order, state-road closure, affected-area figure or full-control declaration was included in the available update. Residents and travellers should therefore avoid treating the incidents as either resolved or province-wide: confirm the exact locality and follow Adana Governorate and forestry instructions.
What is confirmed in Muğla
The fire began in the forested Yaraş area of Menteşe and, with wind affecting operations, reached the Armutçuk area of neighbouring Ula. Anadolu Agency, citing Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık, reported that three homes were evacuated as a precaution—two in Menteşe and one in Ula—along with three cattle and about 100 sheep and goats. Aircraft, ground crews and water vehicles were deployed.
Menteşe has moved to a stronger control status
OGM's later update says the Menteşe fire is largely under control, a step beyond its earlier 'energy reduced' wording. It still stops short of saying the fire is fully extinguished. Cooling, hot-spot checks and monitoring continue, and the public should not enter the operational area or use drones that can endanger firefighting aircraft.
Serik is largely controlled; 160 hectares reported affected
The Antalya fire began in the Akbaş area of Serik outside forest land and spread towards woodland. OGM said it was largely under control, while Anadolu Agency reported that about 160 hectares had been affected. The figure describes the reported impact area, not a province-wide danger zone. It also does not mean every crew has withdrawn or that monitoring has ended. Follow district-level notices if staying near Akbaş or travelling through inland Serik.
Road status: the morning wildfire entry is no longer on the national list
KGM's current official closed-roads table, updated at 09:23 on 7 September, does not show a wildfire-related closure in Muğla. An earlier record had covered kilometres 14–17 on road 330-03. Its absence from the current table is not a promise that every local road is unrestricted: police, gendarmerie or firefighters can still apply short local controls. Check KGM's live page and obey signs and crews at the scene.
No province-wide tourism shutdown is verified
The available official updates do not announce a closure of Muğla or Antalya airports, a blanket evacuation of resorts, or a province-wide travel ban. The affected places are specific inland localities. Travellers should distinguish a local emergency zone from an entire destination and verify the exact road, accommodation and transfer before changing plans.
