Türkiye's Ministry of Family and Social Services said the August 2026 birth-support payments were deposited into eligible mothers' accounts on 28 August. The programme has paid TRY 25 billion for 1,278,581 children since the new system began and currently makes regular monthly payments for 745,150 children. For international families, the practical point is narrower than the headline: a foreign mother does not automatically disqualify a household, but a baby born in Türkiye does not automatically create eligibility either.
The three payment levels
For a first child born alive on or after 1 January 2025, the programme pays TRY 5,000 once. For a second child, it pays TRY 1,500 a month; for a third or later child, TRY 5,000 a month. Regular payments continue through the month in which the eligible child reaches age five, provided the conditions remain satisfied.
Birth in Türkiye is not enough
The official rules require the supported child to be a Turkish citizen and alive on the application date. The mother, father or both must be Turkish citizens; the claimant and beneficiary must also meet the citizenship conditions. The beneficiary and child must reside in Türkiye. A residence permit by itself, or simply giving birth in a Turkish hospital, does not create the benefit.
How a mixed-nationality family can apply
If the mother is foreign and the father is Turkish, the Turkish father may apply through e-Devlet. The ministry says he must provide the provincial directorate within 15 days with the mother's passport or residence permit, the Turkish child's birth documents, his population-record extract and any additional evidence requested. The precise file depends on custody, residence and family status.
Application and payment route
Applications are filed through the e-Devlet birth-support service and can be tracked online. Once the provincial directorate approves the application, payment is made in the final week of the following month through Halkbank. The August announcement concerns approved beneficiaries; it does not turn a pending or rejected application into an automatic payment.
Deadlines and address risk
An application for a first child must be made before the child completes 12 months. For a second or later child, the deadline is before completion of the 60th month. A valid Turkish address must appear in the population system. Moving the beneficiary's or child's registered residence abroad can stop regular support, so address changes should be reported promptly.

Confirmed: August payments were deposited, the three support levels remain unchanged and mixed-nationality families may qualify through a Turkish parent when all child, residence and application conditions are met. Not correct: every child born in Türkiye receives the payment, every foreign resident qualifies, or the August announcement opened a new benefit without an application.
