Turkey's state weather service has issued a heavy-rain warning for northwestern Central Anatolia. Local totals of 21–50 kg/m² are expected between 22:00 on Sunday 27 September and 14:00 on Monday 28 September in Kütahya, Ankara, Eskişehir, Çankırı and Kırıkkale, as well as northern Konya.
Where and when the warning applies
The official area is limited to the named provinces and northern Konya; it is not a nationwide warning. MGM says showers and thunderstorms may become locally heavy during the overnight and Monday-morning period. The published end time is 14:00 on 28 September.
Main risks for overnight and morning travel
MGM lists flash floods, local flooding, lightning, strong wind during downpours and transport disruption. Drivers on intercity routes around Ankara, Eskişehir, Kütahya, Çankırı, Kırıkkale and northern Konya should allow extra time, avoid flooded underpasses and never enter moving water.
Flights, trains and buses are not automatically cancelled
The warning does not itself close airports, railways or bus terminals. Passengers should check their airline, train or coach operator before departure and monitor local conditions, especially for early-morning connections and airport transfers.
