MGM's national forecast covers the period from 06:00 on 22 September to 06:00 on 23 September. The locally heavy-rain zone includes southern and eastern Marmara and Tekirdağ, plus Düzce, Zonguldak and Bartın. Istanbul is forecast to receive intermittent thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain possible in the evening. A regional warning does not mean every district will receive the same amount of rain.
Strong wind areas
The official forecast expects locally strong winds of 40–60 km/h from the northeast in southwestern Marmara and on the northern Aegean coast. Winds of the same range are possible from southerly directions in southern and western eastern Anatolia. Secure loose balcony items and use extra caution on exposed roads, bridges and coastal routes.

The MGM bulletin is a weather warning, not a general cancellation notice. Check the exact flight, ferry, intercity bus or excursion with its operator shortly before departure. Drivers should allow extra time, avoid flooded underpasses and never enter standing or moving floodwater. Live local restrictions should be checked with the responsible municipality or road authority.
What visitors should change
Move flexible outdoor plans away from the late-afternoon and evening risk window in affected areas. Do not wait beside stream beds, low coastal roads or under isolated trees during thunderstorms. Travellers moving between Istanbul, Bursa, Tekirdağ and the western Black Sea should keep a second route and confirm the final ground transfer before leaving.
