Turkey Compass chart of petrol and diesel prices in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir on 10 October 2026
Original Turkey Compass data graphic based on Petrol Ofisi prices checked 10 October 2026

A large diesel increase discussed before the weekend is now visible in a distributor’s live price table. On 10 October 2026, Petrol Ofisi listed diesel at TRY96.60 on Istanbul’s European side, TRY96.50 on the Asian side, TRY97.70 in Ankara and TRY98.00 in İzmir. Petrol stood at TRY83.80, TRY83.60, TRY84.80 and TRY85.10 respectively. The practical takeaway for residents and travellers is the current city spread—not an assumption that every forecourt must charge the same amount.

The verified city snapshot

The distributor’s dated table shows Istanbul Europe at TRY83.80 for petrol and TRY96.60 for diesel; Istanbul Asia at TRY83.60/96.50; Ankara at TRY84.80/97.70; and İzmir at TRY85.10/98.00. LPG is listed at TRY41.20 in Istanbul Europe and İzmir, TRY40.60 in Istanbul Asia and TRY41.29 in Ankara. Prices can still differ by district, station, distributor and product.

What a 50-litre fill costs

At the displayed rates, 50 litres of diesel is about TRY4,830 in Istanbul Europe, TRY4,825 in Istanbul Asia, TRY4,885 in Ankara and TRY4,900 in İzmir. The equivalent petrol fill is roughly TRY4,190, TRY4,180, TRY4,240 and TRY4,255. These are Turkey Compass calculations from the live table, not a quote or price guarantee from a specific station.

A 1,000-kilometre road-trip example

A diesel car consuming 6 litres per 100 kilometres needs 60 litres for 1,000 kilometres. Using the İzmir display gives about TRY5,880 in fuel before tolls, parking or detours. A petrol car consuming 8 litres per 100 kilometres would need 80 litres, or about TRY6,808 at the İzmir display. Use the booked vehicle’s real consumption and the price at the actual collection point.

Why this is not one compulsory national price

Distributor tables are recommended retail references. OPET explicitly notes that dealers make independent commercial pricing decisions, so final station prices may differ. Transport costs and local conditions also affect the table. A national headline should therefore not be used to challenge a receipt unless the station’s own displayed price and the charged amount do not match.

Fact-check verdict and next step

Confirmed: elevated diesel prices and lower petrol figures are visible in the 10 October distributor table. Not established by that table: one mandatory price for all stations, how long the values will last or an automatic right to change an existing rental or transfer contract. Check the city and district price immediately before travel, keep the receipt and add tolls separately.
